Code of Conduct
Updated on 16th April, 2026
At Babskenky, we believe every mentee deserves a safe, respectful, and motivating environment to grow. Our Code of Conduct exists to protect that experience — for you and for the entire community.
We're all here with a shared goal: to grow our skills and build something meaningful. That only works when we show up with integrity, kindness, and a commitment to doing the work.
What We Expect From Every Mentee
Respect Everyone
- Treat all members of the Babskenky community — including staff, mentees, and mentors — with respect and professionalism.
- Use inclusive, thoughtful, and constructive language in all communications.
- Disagreements happen — but bullying, harassment, or discriminatory behavior will never be tolerated.
Own Your Learning Journey
- This is a program — expect to face challenges and trust yourself that you can do what you set your mind to.
- Ask for help, take initiative, and lean into feedback. You don't need to know everything (that is why we are here to help) — but we do expect effort, openness, and consistency.
- Manage your time proactively. You're expected to complete work independently and meet key milestones.
Note: While help is always available, at Babskenky you will spend time learning independently, troubleshooting, and applying concepts on your own. That's not just part of the journey — it's part of how we help you grow.
Engage With Integrity
Be transparent. If you're stuck, behind, or overwhelmed, let us know. We're here to support — not to judge.
Show Up & Stay Involved
- Actively participate in the learning community. That includes 1-on-1 calls, live sessions, and group events (where applicable).
- Communicate with your Learning Coach or instructors if something's preventing you from staying engaged.
- Keep your contact info and communication preferences up to date — so we can support you effectively.
When Expectations Aren't Met
We believe in second chances and learning moments — but we also take our community's safety and success seriously.
If a mentee violates the Code of Conduct, here's what might happen:
- A formal reminder or coaching conversation
- Temporary restrictions on sessions or community spaces
- A personalized support plan to get back on track
- In serious or repeated cases, removal from the program or loss of MBG eligibility.
Got Questions or Concerns?
Your Learning Coach is your first stop for support if you have questions.
We're all building something big here — together. Let's do it with care, effort, and respect.
Inappropriate Conduct
What Counts as Inappropriate Conduct (Including but Not Limited To)
Babskenky & Company is a professional and inclusive environment. The following are examples of behavior that violate our standards for respectful and appropriate conduct:
- Using disrespectful, offensive, or discriminatory language in any community channel
- Harassing or bullying other mentees, coaches, or staff (this includes jokes at someone else's expense)
- Making unwanted comments about someone's appearance, gender, race, religion, or background
- Posting NSFW (not safe for work), explicit, or violent content
- Yelling at, mocking, or belittling others in voice chats, forums, or meetings
- Persistently interrupting or derailing class or group discussions
- Sharing private messages or personal information about others without their consent
- Using the community platform to solicit money, sell services, or spread harmful content
- Threatening behavior or intimidation of any kind
- Impersonating another mentee, coach, or staff member
Reminder: Inappropriate conduct will result in escalating consequences — including removal from the program.
Accountability & Consequences
Definition of Violation
A Code of Conduct (CoC) Violation is any behaviour, action, or pattern of actions by a mentee or employee that violates the standards of the official document established by Babskenky to ensure a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment. Any mentee or employee can use the form to report a violation of the CoC that they've witnessed or experienced.
Violation Typology and Weight
Each violation falls into one of the following categories and is assigned a weight (Minor or Major) based on the severity, frequency, and context of the incident. If necessary, the case can be investigated by the Quality Team and become the subject of a disciplinary review.
Academic Integrity Violation
- Plagiarism (Minor): Submitting someone else's work as one's own.
- AI Overuse (Minor): Excessive use of AI tools to generate project parts with no individual impact, if this is visible and undermines skills development.
Misuse Violation
- Leaking Course Material (Major): Sharing, publishing, or repurposing program content without permission.
- Spamming (Minor): Posting irrelevant or excessive messages in channels.
Communication & Respect Violation
- Disrespectful Behaviour (Minor): Using a rude, dismissive, or sarcastic tone towards peers or Babskenky employees.
- Disruptive Behaviour (Minor/Major depending on impact): Interrupting study sessions, ignoring community rules, or consistently creating a negative learning environment.
- Discriminatory Language (Major): Using derogatory or biased language based on race, gender, sexual orientation, nationality, etc.
- Bullying (Major): Repeated targeting of individuals with the intent to intimidate or belittle.
Harassment & Safety Violation
- Harassment (Major): Persistent unwelcome behavior, including verbal abuse, intimidation, or coercion.
- Threats (Major): Making direct or indirect threats of violence, harm, or retaliation.
Calculating Weight of Violation
To determine the weight of a violation, the Quality team should consider:
- Intent: Was the act intentional or accidental?
- Impact: Did it cause harm, discomfort, or disruption?
- Frequency: Is this a repeated behaviour?
- Response: Was there any acknowledgment or attempt to improve?
Minor Violations may be addressed with warnings, education, or coaching but without any suspensions.
Major Violations may lead to investigation, temporary suspension, or expulsion depending on the severity.
Maximum of Violation
A cumulative threshold may be applied:
- 3 Minor Violations within a 1-month period = 1 Major Violation
- 2 Major Violations = Subject to disciplinary review by Learning Community, Onboarding, Quality and Communication teams.
- Any single extreme case may result in immediate review regardless of previous record.
